Industrial safety compliance dashboard using iot
Project Overview
Name of Project: Industrial safety compliance dashboard using iot
Abstract :
Industrial Safety Compliance Dashboard Using IoT is an IoT-based safety monitoring and compliance management system designed to improve safety in industrial environments. The system uses an Arduino-based hardware unit connected with MQ-series gas sensors, LCD, and UPS to continuously monitor hazardous environmental conditions. Sensors such as MQ-2, MQ-7, MQ-8, and MQ-135 can detect gases including methane, propane, butane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, ammonia, and nitrogen oxides. The collected data is used to identify unsafe conditions and support timely safety actions.
The system provides a centralized web-based compliance dashboard with separate access for Admin, MIDC Regional Head, Company, and End User. The MIDC Regional Head can manage companies and their units/hardware, assign hardware to companies, view reports, and monitor automatically generated complaints. Companies can view their own safety data and complaints, while end users can register, log in, and access reports. The system aims to provide real-time monitoring, automated alerts, safety compliance tracking, centralized reporting, and improved workplace safety.
Key Features
1. Real-Time Safety Monitoring
Continuously monitors industrial environmental conditions using IoT sensors and displays the collected information through the dashboard.
2. Gas Detection
Uses MQ-2, MQ-7, MQ-8, and MQ-135 sensors to detect hazardous gases and environmental pollutants.
3. Automated Alerts & Complaints
Unsafe conditions detected by the system can generate alerts and support automatic complaint generation, allowing responsible authorities to respond quickly.
4. Role-Based Access
Provides separate modules for:
Admin – Manage MIDC and view data responses.
MIDC Regional Head – Manage companies, units, hardware, assignments, reports, and complaints.
Company – View company-specific safety data and complaints.
End User – Register, log in, and view reports.
5. Hardware Management
Allows the MIDC Regional Head to add, view, delete, and assign IoT hardware units to companies.
6. Safety Compliance Dashboard
Provides a centralized dashboard for viewing sensor data, safety status, alerts, reports, and compliance information.
7. Centralized Reporting
Authorized users can access safety reports and monitor the status of industrial units from a centralized system.
8. LCD-Based Local Display
The Arduino hardware can display safety/monitoring information locally through an LCD, providing an immediate indication at the monitored location.
9. UPS Support
A UPS is included in the hardware model to provide power backup for the monitoring unit.
10. Improved Industrial Safety
The overall system is designed to support early detection of hazardous conditions, faster response, better compliance monitoring, and safer industrial workplaces.
